WHEEL OF LOVE is an indietronic short opera for soprano and electric guitar in three acts of confusion. It draws on forms of traditional opera to tell an intricate inner story with indietronica music: Two protagonists — a soprano and an electric guitar — fall into the endless loop of human attraction, projection and rejection, desperately seeking a way to escape.

The format leans on baroque opera with its elements of improvised, story-telling recitativo and formal, expressive aria: The music unfolds as an interplay of experimental vocal/guitar dialogue over electronic soundscapes interwoven with quotations from operatic/classical pieces and self-contained indietronica songs.

The music of WHEEL OF LOVE was presented in a pre-showing in April 2024. Box of Chocolates is currently in the process of bringing the full opera to the stage.
